Last week's blog was about WHY you should sign up! And I'm sure you have gone back and forth with yourself saying things like...

"no, thanks! I don't need to pay $20 to keep record of my score, I won't do that good anyway" or "I'm just not that really into it"

While this is all very true! I've been there, I get it because I've said all these things and I think every time I've signed up last minute because honestly FOMO (fear of missing out for folks that don't know) It's a real thing! And guess what? Your gym is going to program it anyway so you might as well just join in on the fun! And it's really cool to go back to in the past years to see how much better you've gotten especially if there is a repeat and trust me (if this is your first time) THERE IS ALWAYS A REPEAT. ALWAYS!

Now that we got that out of the way! You will need ALL the right gear to be open ready!! And of course we got you completely covered 😉

Here are the 4 essentials:

you know you will see some freakin' double unders! And you still have time to get your OWN rope. This is huge when it comes to learning DUs and its crazy how much this will help your score!! Remember 17.5?? 10 rounds of double unders and thrusters!!

We have two options for you!

  • WOD Nation Double Under Speed Rope for those that might be a little more advanced and need to step up their game to a lighter cable. Yup, telling it like it is!

  • WOD Nation Attack Speed Rope for beginners! This comes with two different weighted cables so if you aren't quite use to the light cable, you have the option to start a bit heavier! And who doesn't love options??

Pull-ups, bar muscle- ups, toes-to-bar! Need I say more?? Save those hands by getting some good protection on them! Our WOD Nation grips will be perfect because they basically feel like butter! You won't have to worry about getting them broken in, they come that way. YAY!

In the 2017 Open we saw toes-to-bars and bar muscle ups in 17.2 and chest to bar pull ups in 17.3.

We know we will see something HEAVY!! Protect those wrist and secure that PR!! We have a couple options for you to choose from! Great examples of where wrist wraps came in handy last year... 17.1 dumbbell snatches. 17.2 power cleans. 17.3 squat snatch. 17.4 handstand push-ups. 17.5 thrusters

  • WOD Nation Strength Wraps allow you to twist and tighten with ease! Providing the right amount of support exactly when you need it - who can argue with that??

  • WOD Nation Wrist Wraps are those who prefer putting on a wrap in less than 5 seconds! The velcro strap makes this super easy! And that's not all, we have 2 different lengths: 12" and 18" depending how much support you need!

Ummm THRUSTERS YA'LL! Does anyone actually like doing these?? I don't think they ever get easier but we gotta do them so you might as well make your knees feel good and ready!

WODs from last years open where knee sleeves saved us?? 17.2 walking lunges. 17.3 squat snatches. 17.4 wall balls. 17.5 thrusters.

Told ya, we got you covered from hands to toe! You won't want to miss out on the fun because we all know fitness with friends never disappoints! Get yourself these must have gear you will need to be completely ready and the best part won't break the bank!! You better hurry, there's just the right amount of time to order now and get it right before the Open!
