Tell us a little bit about yourself (family, job, hobbies, interests, etc.).
I work in Dallas Texas as a project manager for a construction company. I spend my free time at my church, the life church Dallas. Hopefully one day I'll have my pilots license. It is a big dream of mine!
When did you start doing CrossFit?
How did you hear about CrossFit and what was your first workout?
My gym puts on a 6-week challenge. I found out about CrossFit from that on Facebook. First WOD was AMRAP 12) 5 Burpees 10 KB Swings 15 Abmat sit-ups: 30 rest
What were you doing before CrossFit?
Running and attempting to diet
How has your approach to CrossFit changed since first starting?
My approach is to not go full speed at the beginning of a long work out.
Favorite WOD or movement / Least favorite?
I love the rowing and weights portion. My least favorite is would be either running or wall balls
What types of changes have you seen (mentally, physically, and/or lifestyle) since starting CrossFit?
When I was overweight my excuse was my knees hurt so I can't exercise. Now knees don't hurt and I'm getting stronger. I'm physically stronger and mentally stronger. I'm not tired. I've finally found a plan and diet that works. I meal prep and go to the gym every day. If it wasn't for CrossFit I would be where I'm at.
What motivates/inspires you?
My gym is awesome. The coaches are awesome. They build you up every day and push you to the limits to keep you at your best. Cory will show you how to do every workout the proper way. Or make you do a scaled version until you get it. He's awesome.
What would you say to someone starting CrossFit for the first time?
Keep going and keep pushing. You will start seeing results if you follow the plan.
