Hi, My name is Linda Hong. I’m from St.Louis MO but travel all over the world and currently in Bali. So if you read this and you happen to be here...FIND ME!
I am the manager for WOD Nation. (I’ll let that sink in) Yuuuup, you get to finally know who is running almost everything behind the scenes of this amazing company! I also coach part-time at Crossfit Chiang Mai and always looking to guest coach anywhere I travel.
Besides Crossfit and Travel. I spend my time with friends and family (whenever I’m actually home - sorry, mom!) plotting adventures and ways to make the world a better place. I am a life learner and always down to try anything once!
Currently, Crossfit Wanderlust depends but 8 am or 9 am otherwise I’m at open gym by 10 am
I was watching ESPN and it was showing all the ladies do a prowler push and HSPU workout and I was just AMAZED by how strong all these women were and how fun it looked beside the fact they looked like they were dying haha
My first workout was the baseline and I haven’t done it since the first time I did it! I’ll probably do it again now that I just mentioned it!
Marathon running (yikes! can't even imagine doing that now) and general strength training at the gym. I remember I just googled it then went to try it.
hmmm...I remember I would be super hard on myself if I didn’t perform well. To the point where I didn’t enjoy it and I was always worried about being the top of the leaderboard especially on things I was good at and if someone beat me, I would seriously question my fitness. Now that I have been doing it for over 6 years, I have a much better understanding with how I feel, constantly tuning in and just being thankful that I can move my body and be as healthy as I am. Also, just making sure it’s just FUN!
Well what I love about this sport in terms of lifestyle, I know people might poke fun of us and say “it’s such a cult” well yeah sure because it is a culture but until they realize how special it is to meet a complete stranger and instantly connect with them like we have been friends before is the best feeling! And as a traveler and knowing I have a “safe place” to find a friend or ask for advice about the best places to see or eat. It can’t get any better than that.
Mentally - I can push myself in uncomfortable situations because this sport always pushes you past your breaking point when you just want to give up. Our minds can overcome a lot more than we think.
Physically - I'm much stronger and fitter than I have ever been. I feel like I have set up a pretty good frame for the years to come! I'm 31 years young and it's definitely just going to get better and better!
Let’s just say motivation isn’t the easiest, I literally could talk myself out of it but I KNOW 100% that I will feel so much better after I’m done. It definitely inspires me seeing my friends put in the work because it makes me want to do the same. Especially for those of us that have a full-time job and do this as just a form of healthy living. It takes a lot of hard work and determination, I admire that so much.
You do not have to be “fit” to start because what is fit?? What defines that anyway?? Everyone is super loving and welcoming. We were ALL beginners at one point in our Crossfit journeys so don’t take it so seriously and always remember to have fun!
It changes but currently: Kesha - Praying or The Greatest Showman - This is Me
